About this item

Jacquard iDye Poly is for dyeing polyester and nylon fabrics, and it has never been easier! iDye's self-dissolving packet eliminates the handling of messy powders. Just fill a stainless steel or enamel pot with the recommended amount of water, add an iDye packet and the included Color Intensifier, add a pre-wetted garment, place the pot over high heat, stir until the iDye is dissolved, and continue to stir frequently. Approximately 1/2 to 1 hour. One packet dyes 2 to 3 pounds of fabric. 0.5 oz. Blue.

Dyed okay, changed fabric feel though
I used a combination of poly and cotton dye to dye a cream cable knit sweater that had been stained to blue since I liked the sweater so much. However I can't say that I loved the results. With both combined I did get a reasonably bright blue and it is mostly consistent throughout all the clothes I dyed. However, the process of cooking the material for the poly dye seems to have made the sweater more scratchy and stiff. The sweater has been through several washes now and still has a feint smell to it from the dye and a bit of stiffness. Most of the other things I dyed (T-Shirts, socks, etc) at the same time held up better and don't have any noticeable changes to the fabric feel. So I guess certain blends work better than others.About Me: General CrafterSkill Level: Beginner
