Optical color mixtures can be created with techniques such as hatching, crosshatching, or gentle shading with superimposed colors. Oil pastels encourage a bold and direct approach that is of enormous benefit in developing confidence in drawing and using color. Use white oil pastels to blend colors, tint, or add highlights to your work. Also great as a resist or for scratch board work. Regular size pastels each measure approximately 2 1/4 x 3/8 inch.
