This plier type snap installer works well, but I did have some difficulty getting a system for holding the small snap parts properly to get them held securely by the plier, but when I got them in place correctly, the snaps did apply properly and securely. The plier did not require excessive hand pressure and I was pleased that the snaps stayed in place well after applied. I found that if I put the pronged part through the fabric and wrapped that around it's socket in the plier, then turned the plier over and put the other piece in place it it's socket and pressed, it worked well with moderate force applied to the handles.
