Spring Craft Trends and Supplies
Our inspiration comes from our environment, so as the seasons change, so do our craft projects. Whether it’s moving on from knitting chunky hats and cowls to lighter weight scarves, or setting down the dark and dreary colors and picking up a pastel, you will notice yourself crafting differently. Springtime isn’t just about bringing in floral prints and pastels, though. When you scour the internet for interesting projects, supplies, and inspiration as much as I do, you start to notice other spring trends emerging. Here are some craft trends I’m excited about this spring.
Wrapping Yarn, Floss, And String
This spring, people are embracing the texture and lovely color that can be created by simply wrapping an object with embroidery floss or yarn. I tried out this craft for myself with some pretty spring inspired baker’s twine and am very happy with the results. I’ve seen wrapped eggs, vases, even keys! This simple craft just takes a little patience and some glue to get some amazing results. You can also find the tutorial for these fun coffee filter flowers over on the Think Crafts Blog!
Layering Embellishments and Accents
Lately, I’ve seen a lot of our spring flowers and projects taken to the next level with creative new layering supplies. These Martha Stewart Layering Punches allow you to create dimensional floral accents easily. They’re perfect for Easter baskets, cards, and home décor. You can mix up colors and patterns to create a beautiful design that is uniquely you.
CreateForLess also has these amazing layered chipboard accents that allow you to paint each layer before constructing so you’ll have a wonderful 3 dimensional design. You could even Mod Podge some colorful paper onto your shape if you’re looking for a fun pattern.

Spring Wreath Making
Wreaths aren’t just for the holiday season anymore. You can adorn your door all year long with fun seasonal accents. For spring, grab some colorful pastel striped ribbon to attach to your wreath form. You could add any number of floral accents to really take the wreath to the next level. What about gluing some of these hollow string eggs to a wreath? Make your wreath fit your own personal style. You can keep it as classic and simple as you like, or dress it up like crazy with a little creativity.
These spring craft trends are meant to inspire your spring crafting. Though the classics like egg dying, Easter Baskets, and florals are fun, these new spring trends are definitely catching on.
